Most refurbishment projects stall for the same reason: too many different firms doing different bits, none of them talking to each other. We do it differently. The bulk of a refurb (plumbing, bathrooms, kitchens, tiling, fit-out) is our own work, handled by the same team from first-fix through to silicone.

For the specialist bits, carpentry, plastering, decorating and any gas-specific work, we bring in trusted trades we've worked with for years. One point of contact, one schedule, one invoice. You're not chasing anyone.

Whole-house refurbishments

A full property refurbishment covers strip-out, first-fix plumbing and electrics, structural adjustments where needed, plastering, second-fix, bathroom and kitchen install, tiling, flooring, decoration. We project-manage the whole sequence and work through it visibly, so you know what's happening each week.

Room-by-room refurbs

Sometimes the full house isn't the right call. A home renovation focusing on key rooms often transforms a property for a fraction of the cost. A refurbished bathroom and kitchen plus a repaint can transform a home for a fraction of the cost. We'll be honest about where the money is best spent and where you'd be throwing it at nothing.

Landlord refurbs between tenants

Short turnaround, fair price, tidy finish. We take rental refurbs seriously because we know the window is tight and a delayed let costs you rent. Plumbing checks, any bathroom or kitchen work, patch-and-paint, certificates where needed.

Period and listed-property refurbs

Some of the best homes in Dorset and West Dorset are older stone cottages and listed village terraces. Refurbishing one properly means working with the building, not against it: the right materials in the right places, pipework that isn't cut through stonework where it doesn't need to be, and specialist trades brought in for the parts that need them. How long does a whole-house refurbishment take?

Most whole-house refurbs run 8–16 weeks depending on the size of the property and the scope of work. We give you a schedule before we start and update you each week so you know what's happening and when.

Can we live in the house during the work?

For single-room or phased refurbs, usually yes. For a full strip-out with plumbing, electrics and bathrooms off-line at once, most people move out for the worst of it. We'll plan the schedule around what works for you.

Do you handle the design or do I need an architect?

For straightforward refurbishments we can handle layout and material decisions directly with you. For structural changes or extensions we work alongside an architect, and can recommend local ones we've worked with before.

How do you price a refurbishment?

We visit, measure up and give you a clear written quote including labour, materials and any provisional sums for unknowns. No vague estimates. If something changes during the job, we talk to you first.
